For you guys who want to use Linux but dislike both GNOME and KDE user interface, poor you :P ... Sorry, I'm just kidding ;). Actually, there are many both GNOME and KDE user interfaces which are so great. But especially for you, Windows user interface fans, maybe this is a good news :).

It is Omnia XP, a distro Linux whose user interface looks like Windows XP's.

Omnia Linux is a remastering of the Linux Debian 5.0 Lenny, with visual interface easily adapted for deployment in small business and end users by facilitating the migration to the Linux world. It supports a total of 12 architectures and runs from a live CD with an option for installing to a hard disk.

I think it's a distro with a great idea to help people migrating from Windows to Linux. What do you think? :D

Btw, Get this Omnia here. Have a nice day! :)

Some days ago I read this news,

REDMOND, Wash., July 20, 2009 — Today, in a break from the ordinary, Microsoft released 20,000 lines of device driver code to the Linux community. The code, which includes three Linux device drivers, has been submitted to the Linux kernel community for inclusion in the Linux tree. The drivers will be available to the Linux community and customers alike, and will enhance the performance of the Linux operating system when virtualized on Windows Server 2008 Hyper-V or Windows Server 2008 R2 Hyper-V.

Well, what do you think about this MS strategy? :D

I was blogwalking and just found this site. Seems like Chuck Norris facts.. but off course, it's more geek.. ;-) And, these are my favorite ones:

  • Linus Torvalds wasn't like the other students of University of Helsinki. He took notes in binary.
  • Linus Torvalds can program using a scroll-wheel.
  • Linus Torvalds can run kill -9 and kill Chuck Norris.
  • Linus Torvalds wrote the whole kernel in binary and reverse engineered it to C code for others benefit.
  • Bill Gates left his university to start Micro$oft.  Steve Jobs sold his Wolkswagen bus to start Apple. Linus Torvalds made a new thread in a forum and put a file on a ftp server.
More Linus Torvalds facts...
